Well I ordered the fishing boat print. It will be here in about 4 days. I don’t know if it will look good on the green wall just painted, but the other three walls are cream. We’ll see. Either way, I’ll get an unfinished frame at Michael’s and paint it cream or barn red, depending on the wall it’s hung on.
I’m so picky about artwork that I know more of what I don’t like than what I do. I like Van Gogh. My friend Gail gave me a postcard of Van Gogh’s shoes. She can’t decide if the shoes have just come in or are about to go out. Not too crazy about Picasso’s funky stuff, or Dali or the Chinese ocean waves (that look like cartoons to me.) I like people and photographs and some landscapes and vivid colors. I like what I like I guess.
There’s still little artwork in the house. Mostly personal photographs. We have in our bedroom a print called Destiny - a woman in a red dress, drinking from a blue bowl and watching ships come in. A friend gave me a charcoal by Aldo Luongo ? from ‘69 of a man and woman embracing. She got it at Goodwill. Savannah put some stickers on it that took some of the charcoal off when I removed them, not too obvious though. And there’s a garden/patio picture of flowers and an adirondack chair at the top of my stairs. At the bottom of the stairs we’ve a small print of a cowboy leaning against his horse in the sunshine, and there’s a botanical print in the tv room. Savannah’s room has different things that suit her. Pictures of her room will be posted later.
